Striking Clinic recommends that you wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing, such as shorts and a t-shirt. You'll also need to wear hand wraps and gloves to protect your hands and wrists.

Don't worry if you don't  have gloves, shin guards or even a skipping rope, we have an abundance of gear for you to use... That's not to say we don't highly recommend having your own gear, but we know it can be a bit of an investment if you're just looking to try out.

What to Expect in Your First Class

Partners

You will be paired up with a partner of similar skill level to practice the techniques that you will be learning in class. This will give you the opportunity to practice your strikes and footwork with someone else, which will help you improve faster.

Techniques

In your first class, you will be introduced to the basic striking techniques, including punches, kicks, and knee strikes. You will also learn how to move your feet to improve your balance and power. We break down each technique step-by-step, so you can understand the proper form and execution.

Attire

Wear comfortable workout clothes and the one key rule to remember... NO SHOES ON THE MATS!!! Bring some shoes or sliders so you can slip in and out of them as and when you need to.

Safety

Safety is a top priority at the Striking Clinic. We are here to help and ensure that everyone is using proper technique to avoid injury. If you have any injuries or medical conditions, please let the us know before class.

Class Structure

Classes typically begin with a warm-up to get your body ready for the workout. Then we demonstrate the techniques for the class to practice. You will work with your partner to practice the techniques, we will be around and will provide feedback, corrections and of course, support. The class will end with a cool-down to stretch your muscles.
